Hello all you lovely mommies and mommies to be,
I'm new here in login, but I've spent a LOT of time reading older posts with very valuable information in them.
Instead of digging up older threads and responding at the bottom, I wanted to ask again, what your most recent experiences have been while singing while pregnant--
Specifically-
Until what week did you perform, and when did you go back to work?
It looks like I have a few 'planning' choices to make (obviously, nothing ever goes as planned, but here are the possibilities)-- your thoughts or experiences would be much appreciated.
Option 1-
I'm singing a leading role (comic opera, a bit physical because I have to be boy-ish but nothing that would be dangerous or rolling around, etc.) and I would be completing the run at 21-23 weeks pg.
Followed by a gig one month later-- by end of that gig I'd be 28-29 weeks.
After which I'd have to fly (internationally) home, have baby. And my next gig would be when baby is 3.5 mo. old- ALSO this gig would be the 'biggest one yet' in terms of opera house level...the role isn't too taxing, but I'm covering the lead role so I will be in rehearsal ALL the time.
Option 2-
wait a month to try-
ie, physical leading role role at 17-19weeks, second role at 24-25 weeks, fly internationally, baby, and then have 2.5 month before having to fly internationally again, take baby and husband (hopefully) on the road, and deal with a big-house gig, again, singing something smaller, but covering the lead.
Thoughts?
I know, I know, I can't plan any of this...
and we can't just try twice--haha...
but for any of you who HAVE had the experience of performing at certain months, or going back early...
I'm mostly trying to weigh the 2.5 month old vs. 3.5 month old baby on the road thing as WELL as the more physical role at the earlier or later time (4.5 or 5.5 months)... I KNOW you can sing just fine into 7 months pregnant no matter how huge you look or how you feel!
Thanks for any advice you can share!
