Hi ladies, I am now in my 6th week of pregnancy, and up so late because I don't even want to lie down. My stomach, for the last week, is churning with acid every night. I am trying not to eat before bed, some nights successfully, but either way I am burping all night with reflux.
I've actually never had reflux and I'm a high soprano. I noticed in my morning lesson today that I had a tough time focusing my voice; the day before I was fine.
Please enlighten me: 1) Will this heartburn/burping/burning mess up my high, clear voice 2) is there something effective a pregnant woman can take that is proven safe for her baby?
I'm so worried about how it could affect my voice, the nurse at my GYN's office doesn't get it, and it's too early to tell my voice teacher (or anyone besides husband and Mom) that I'm pregnant.
Thank you so much for any info.

Tums are safe during pregnancy and help with the acid. Yes, reflux can mess up your voice at this stage, but it's temporary - and that little bundle will make it worthwhile.
Congratulations on your bump!
